AKU AMBASSADOR

Nicolò Meraldi

Mid-Mountain Guide

My name is Nicoló Meraldi. I live in Valfurva, at the entrance to Val Zebrù, in the heart of the Ortles-Cevedale Group: this is where I grew up and where, from a young age, I forged my bond with the mountains. I have been a Mid-Mountain Guide since 2023 and an International Mountain Leader since 2024. Since 2025, I have been a member of the Alpine and Cave Rescue Service: a commitment I feel deeply and which represents a tangible way of giving something back to the area that shaped me. My passion stems right from ‘back home’, amongst the peaks I have always frequented. These are environments I know intimately and which continue to teach me every day what it truly means to be in the mountains: to observe, adapt and respect. What drives me is the search for authentic experiences, far from the most crowded trails. I love suggesting itineraries that break the mould, where the mountains can still be experienced in their true spirit of sharing, discovery, mindfulness and awareness. When I’m not guiding clients on treks or snowshoe hikes, you’ll find me in ‘my’ mountains, mountaineering and ski mountaineering, continuing to explore them to deepen my connection with these environments in all seasons. I am drawn to the idea of exploring new territories and, whenever I can, I never miss the chance to head out to the 4000-metre peaks. Despite this, the Ortles-Cevedale Group is not just the place where I train and work, but it is home: a space where I continue to grow, both as a professional and as a person.

For me, the mountains are not a conquest but an encounter: an environment where we are guests and where every step demands respect.
