    RinnovaMenti: Mountain Workshops

Mountain Workshops: experiences of growth through nature, history and independence

For several years, AKU has supported the Mountain Workshops, an important initiative developed as part of the activities of RinnovaMenti, an association based in the province of Treviso that creates educational and inclusive programmes for young people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

In 2026, for the third consecutive year, the project gave a group of lower secondary school students the opportunity to enjoy an experience on Monte Grappa, an area of great natural and historical significance. The mountain preserves important traces of the First World War and is home to a unique natural heritage.

The group stayed at an agritourism facility with a strong educational focus, providing a valuable opportunity to experience independence, collaboration and active participation through workshops, shared activities and guided excursions to discover the local area.

With the support of experts who have an in-depth knowledge of the natural environment and local history, the participants were able to discover Monte Grappa in an engaging and hands-on way, turning their time in the mountains into an opportunity for learning, connection and personal growth.

Living as a group, exploring nature and facing new situations gave the participants the opportunity to build confidence in their abilities, develop greater independence and share meaningful moments of social interaction.

Through direct contact with the mountain environment and shared everyday experiences, the Mountain Workshops promote well-being, inclusion and personal growth, offering young people a space where they can express their potential and develop new skills.
