Andrea Enzio, born in 1968, lives in Alagna, is president of the Alagna Guide Corps and director of the Alagna Mountaineering School. His mountaineering career began very early, following in the footsteps of his father and a large family composed mainly ofAlpine guides, ski instructors, and refuge managers on Monte RosaAs a child, he competed as an athlete for the Alagna ski club and soon devoted himself to sport climbing and mountaineering. At just 18 years old, he began a course foraspiring mountain guide and a little later ski instructor.
In the mid-1980s, he developed a passion for snowboarding, earned his snowboard instructor qualification, and made some of the most important first descents on the board in the Monte Rosa massif. As a guide, he specialized in canyoning and participated in several expeditions outside Europe:Daulaghiri, ChoOyu, MckinleySkiing, and freeriding in particular, became his main activity during the winter and led him to travel frequently between various ski resorts in the Alps and abroad.
He still practices paragliding and for several years also river canoeing on the Sesia River, has sailed with a sea canoe in the northern seas (Sweden) and has dived in various corners of the world. A few years ago he discovered sailing and has a skipper's license. He works mainly as aAlpine guide, ski instructor and helicopter rescue technician.
