    Alex Piazzalunga

    Mountaineer

Since I was little I spent a lot of time inmountainMy family and I had a house in a little-known valley in the Bergamo area. I admired the modest peaks that surrounded me and dreamed of being able to climb them, of accessing that world. Everyone remembers how much I "bothered" them by having them accompany me along the paths towards thepeaks.
My first climbs began, the firstadventures, the first contacts with this environment that I realize has completely captured my life. Inside me grew the curiosity to see higher peaks and try more difficult climbs. I began toto climband the mountains became rocky paths. On the wall, I could savor the environment around me even more; hanging there, I felt in harmony with everything around me!
As a good Orobic I also started to dowinter activitiesThe mountains of Bergamo offer many adventure terrains and days filled with effort between endless approaches and few support points.

Thanks to a job offer I moved to one of the most beautiful mountain environments in the world:the DolomitesTogether with motivated companions and friends I begin to climb these wonderful mountains:Marmolada,Vallaccia,Catinaccioand I still continue to climb them. I love thetechnical climbing, the difficult routes that do not have a foregone conclusion and above all I love the magic of winter and the structures oficethat this season creates thanks to the cold and the water. My passion for the mountains at home is such that I find it difficult to leave for distant places. I think climbing here is the most sustainable and fulfilling way to experience mymountaineeringThanks to this discipline I learned therespectfor thenature, for people and the importance of the little things. A lesson I try to bring from the peaks into my everyday life.

I love technical climbing, difficult routes that don't have a foregone conclusion and above all I love the magic of winter and the ice structures that this season creates.
