AKU VALIDATED BY SBTi

We produce, we measure, we reduce. Our decarbonization plan begins, confirmed by SBTi Science Based Target Initiatives. A concrete commitment based on science.

AKU has been committed to environmental and social responsibility issues for more than 10 years, since 2011.
At the time, the context wasn't entirely clear, we were navigating a bit by sight, but we already believed in it. Not to follow trends or chase European regulations that were popping up haphazardly, but because we knew one simple thing: if you produce, you emit, generating an impact, but if you make informed choices, you can also reduce —or at least contain—that impact.
Since then, many things have changed. Projects have been born, concrete results have been achieved based on reliable and truly exciting data —but the approach has always remained the same: scientific, measurable, concrete. Calculation—reduction—calculation. It's mathematics, and mathematics doesn't make mistakes.

That's why, for AKU, joining the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) was a natural, almost obvious, evolution. SBTi asks companies to establish a baseline year, define an emissions reduction target , and then achieve it within a target year. No vague statements, just numbers. Just the way we like it.
In June 2025, AKU was officially validated by SBTi.
This means that our reduction plan has been approved and that our journey towards decarbonisation has, in effect, begun.
A long, challenging, but necessary path. Above all, it is in line with the Paris Agreement , which aims to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

“AKU is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 58.8% by 2034, compared to a base year of 2022, and to measuring and reducing its Scope 3 emissions.”

How is it done?

  • Calculating our base year emissions
  • Implementing the action plan for the reduction of emissions in the foreseen categories
  • By calculating your company's emissions annually and then evaluating whether this action plan is effective.

We won't wait until 2034 to tell the story.
Each year we will calculate and certify our emissions with a third party , according to the ISO 14064 standard and share the results, whether positive or negative, in our annual Responsibility Report .
AKU once again confirms its responsible commitment to the environment, with a science-based reduction program and transparent communication.
We continue our journey with enthusiasm, determination, and faith in change, reaffirming the principle of responsible action as a guiding principle and central value of our business plan.
