Alpine Guide
I amLorenzo Cerri, I practice the profession ofAlpine Guidewith passion trying to propose itineraries different from the usual crowded destinations.
My great passion is adventure, the search for the still wild aspects of the mountains and the Earth and this leads me to share with customers thelove of discoveryI've always wanted to travel and discover other places, other peaks and rock faces, and break away from the tourist traps.
Despite the strong attraction for foreign countries, my favourite places are undoubtedly close to home, in the lesser known Dolomites such as the area ofSan Lucano and Mount Agner(BL). Moving to the Alps I cannot fail to mention the walls on the Italian side of theMont Blanc: environments where I grew up as a mountaineer and climber.
When I first started visiting these places, I wasn't aware of what it meant to be hanging at dizzying heights. Now, what attracts me most is the exposure, the vertigo you can experience on big walls and in the high mountains. The emotions I experienced speeding up the Central Pillar of Freney or climbing the great Pale di San Lucano, where there's no way back or even a chance to call for help, are indelible and tell me what to look for in the mountains.
I want to be in those places where we are still guests, where human intervention has made an ascent more than just a medal to pin on your chest. Traversing these austere environments requires constant attention and great respect, for the mountains and for those who live there.
Today I love seeking out these places and experiences abroad: in Eastern Europe for new ski mountaineering itineraries and discovering the mountains of Patagonia with its still unexplored lines.
