HOW IS AN AKU SHOE DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED?!

Every AKU shoe is born from a journey that combines craftsmanship, technical expertise, and innovation . From the design phase to product development, from modeling to production on the conveyor belt with all the manual assembly steps: it's a process that preserves the shoemaking tradition of Montebelluna while also looking to the future.
To share this journey, we welcomed Matteo Peroni, YouTuber, content creator, and our ambassador, as well as product tester, to our factory. A day spent behind the scenes to learn how AKU footwear is made and to strengthen our collaboration, based on a shared passion for the mountains, lived with respect and responsibility.
The invitation to visit the factory was born from the desire to show the heart of AKU's work : a production process that combines artisan experience and technical research .
A central role is played by the last , the true genetic code of the shoe. The original AKU last is the matrix from which, with specific adaptations, all the types intended for different models and functions are born: the key and secret to comfort recognized throughout the world.
The tour focused on Matteo's favorite model, the Croda DFS GTX , a Made in Italy shoe for mountaineering and the most demanding treks. Lightweight, agile, and precise, it combines innovative materials like the Kevlar upper and the Vibram Croda Litebase sole with exclusive AKU solutions, such as the Dual Fit System, which allows for a variable fit between walking and climbing, and the Elica System for a walk that respects the anatomy of the foot.
