I don't live in Italy, but in Ireland where our hills are a mixture of grass, stone and bogland. I wanted a new pair of boots which could cope in all terrains like this, and found this to be an unbelievable pairing.
The waterproofing is sound, as I trekked deep into saddles where pools of water lay and bog was still damp, and cautiously initially wanted to test how good it was, but from the initial steps it became very clear that the boot was capable of coping deep to ankle depth with anything I put my foot into.
The boot itself is incredibly light in feel, and the initial lace grip on it, makes it easy to ensure the boot is tight around the base of the foot and then as well up around the ankle, something I'd not seem before. You can hike for hours in these and not feel like they're weighing you down in anyway.
The grip on the sole is second to none as I scrambled over karst rock areas and was able to handle the downwards as well with complete ease with the amount of grip it had.
I wasn't expecting much from these, but since I had wide feet, these fit like a glove and was blown away by how comfortable they were all around.
I cannot find any fault with them and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a boot like this in the uplands of the Celtic nations.
