Founded in 1969 as a professional association, the VDBS German Mountain and Ski Guide Association (Verband Deutscher Berg- und Skiführer e.V.)works to create the best possible conditions for the profession and represents the excellence of German alpinism. It comprises approximately 700 state-certified mountain and ski guides, approximately 50 climbing instructorstrained internally by the VDBS, approximately 200 hiking guidesqualified according to the international UIMLAstandard, as well as 25 army and police mountain guidesand 24 freeride guides.
The team includes both "classic" mountain guides, comprehensive professionals capable of operating in any mountain environment, and highly specialized experts in disciplines such as climbing or canyoning.
The VDBS aims to offer mountain and outdoor sports enthusiasts authentic, personalized, and unforgettable experiences, ensuring the highest safety standards, both on trails and on rock, ice, or snow.
