As part of the Mountain For All programme, AKU has chosen to support “The Courage to Climb”, a project promoted by Cooperativa Sociale ALI in collaboration with CAI Feltre.
The project gives people with disabilities living at Casa di Carla the opportunity to gradually discover the mountains through preparatory activities, hikes and training sessions, culminating in a multi-day experience at a mountain hut.
We decided to support this initiative because it fully reflects our vision of the mountains as a place for personal growth, inclusion and participation. The project goes beyond simply making an outdoor experience accessible: it supports participants in developing independence, confidence in their own abilities and meaningful relationships with the local community and the volunteers involved.
By providing AKU footwear and supporting the initiative, we want to help make the mountains an opportunity open to everyone. We believe that every person should have the chance to enjoy authentic experiences in contact with nature, overcoming the obstacles and barriers that too often limit their opportunities.
“Inclusion is not about allowing someone to take part. Inclusion is about creating a path where everyone becomes important to one another.”
