WORK AT HEIGHT: AKU TECHNICAL PARTNER OF PROROCK OUTDOOR

A collaboration aimed at promoting the culture of professional training as a prerequisite for reducing risks in working at heights.

There's a point where work and passion meet: that's where the collaboration between AKU and ProRock, a company of Alpine Guides with solid experience as operators and trainers for working at heights, was born. A partnership founded on the same principle: the mountains are not just a terrain to be explored, but also, and above all, a place to live and work .
ProRock has always combined its mountaineering activities with mountain management , through safety interventions and work at height . It is in this context that AKU became ProRock's technical partner, sharing its values and providing high-quality technical footwear to ensure performance, safety, and comfort in all the group's professional activities. Aware that total safety is a dream, but prevention is a concrete choice, AKU and ProRock are jointly committed to promoting a culture based on the principle of ongoing professional training as a prerequisite for improving risk assessment and prevention skills in rock climbing . This was the first concrete experience in eastern Liguria, where ProRock managed a delicate rebolting and safety intervention on a mountain route at Muzzerone, a historic crag frequented every year by hundreds of climbing enthusiasts.

SUPERALP OCP GTX

For this type of activity, AKU supplied ProRock with the SUPERALP OCP GTX model, a professional shoe certified as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) - in accordance with the EN ISO 20347:2012 standard, which is characterised by a high level of comfort combined with stability and precision for the delicate approach and climbing manoeuvres that characterise long hours of work on the wall and, more generally, in different mountain and forestry environmental contexts .

ProRock: Over 30 years of experience in the mountains

ProRock's story began in 1992 with Roberto Vigiani's idea , which remains true today: combining the knowledge and enthusiasm of multiple professionals is the best way to foster a culture of informed, safe, and responsible mountaineering. From vertical rock faces to fresh snow, ProRock Alpine Guides accompany outdoor enthusiasts on a journey that encompasses both the mountains and their inner selves, a journey of expertise, trust, and discovery.
ProRock guides are active in training and teaching . Thanks to their field experience, training, and consulting, they are able to ensure a high level of safety in working at height and managing mountain areas, transferring essential skills to those who work in exposed and complex environments. AKU collaborates with them to create technical footwear that combines comfort, safety, and performance .

“We are all driven by a great passion for climbing and for the mountains in their broadest totality and completeness.”
Roberto Vigiani
